The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies hosts three expert bodies: the Committee for the Public Information, the Council of Finnish Academies and the National Advisory Board on Research Ethics. The three bodies share a common office, located at the address Mariankatu 7 C 1, FI-00170 Helsinki.
The Ministry of Education and Culture appoints the Committee for the Public Information as well as the National Advisory Board on Research Ethics. The Council of Finnish Academis has four scientific academies as its background organizations. All of the expert bodies mentioned have a three year term.
In addition the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies handles the administration of the Nordic Committee on Bioethics.
