Monitoring in 2026
The monitoring survey was open from 4 May to 15 June 2026. Only organisations with a degree of openness below 5 in one or more areas in 2024 were invited to respond. Organisations with a degree below 5 in only one area answered only the questions for that area. The other organisations answered all questions. When comparing monitoring results across years, it is important to bear in mind that the number of respondents has changed since previous surveys.

In the infographic, respondent counts for the degrees of openness vary because some participating research organisations answered only the questions for the area in which they had not reached degree 5 in the 2024 monitoring. The respondent count for the openness level is the total number of organisations that responded to the 2026 monitoring survey.
