Books, events and encounters
What makes Tiedekirja special is its unique selection. Almost all of its books and publications are works published by learned societies that cannot be found in ordinary book stores. The selection is continuously supplemented with new publications from more than 100 science publishers.
Tiedekirja operates as part of the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (TSV) and distributes Finnish learned societies' publications to readers in Finland and around the world. It also supports scholarly publishing: most of the sales proceeds are returned directly to publishers and learned societies.
Bookstore Tiedekirja is located in Kruununhaka, Helsinki, at the address 13 Snellmaninkatu. Here you can browse newly released titles, make discoveries among older publications and participate in events and book launches.
Find books easily on the web
In Tiedekirja's webstore you can filter your search by discipline, topic, publisher, language or price, for example. Members of learned societies are entitled to member benefits in Tiedekirja, and the discounts of many societies are also extended to students. For the time being, the discount is only available at the Bookstore Tiedekirja or by contacting the store staff.
