Science events
The objective of our science events is to make research-based knowledge available to as many people as possible in an interesting and easily assimilated form. The events are created collaboratively by the research community. TSV provides a framework for the events, while dozens of organisations and hundreds of people from the research community participate in producing the programme.
Science Forum
The Science Forum is an event for everyone interested in science at which researchers in different fields tell audiences about their research and have discussions with the public. This five-day event takes place every two years on the Helsinki city centre campus in January. The Science Forum is open and free for all.
The Science Forum is Finland’s largest and oldest science event. While the Science Forum in its current form has been organised since 1977, the history of the event goes back to the 1920s. The Science Forum has been organised by the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies since the 1980s.

Night of Science
The Night of Science spreads around Helsinki in January every year. The programme is produced by dozens of scientific and cultural actors. The diverse group of programme organisers ensures that you can enjoy both fascinating lectures and insights gained through personal action during the evening and night. All Night of Science events are open and free.
One of the largest individual events is the Night of Sciences in the House of Science and Letters. The event is coordinated by the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies, while scientific societies produce its programme.
The Night of Science was first organised in 2003. Since 2018, it has been a yearly event. The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies organises the event and handles its communications.

Tiedetori at Helsinki Book Fair
Helsinki Book Fair is held annually in October. Tiedetori is in action at the Book Fair's Kruununhaka stage on Thursday and Friday of the fair week and attracts thousands of visitors to enjoy its versatile science programme.
The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies puts the programme together from proposals sent in by science and general publishers and other research actors. Tiedetori has been part of the Book Fair programme since 2013. TSV has been in charge of it from the beginning.
Tiedetori's programme is published on Helsinki Book Fair website together with the rest of the programme around one month before the event.
